A new campaign from the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce is hoping to encourage consumers and businesses to purchase products that are produced locally.

In a news release from the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, the "Made in Flint & Genesee" campaign will help encourage local investment, strengthen community connections and promote local prosperity.

Tim Herman, CEO of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, says "buying local is not a new concept, but it is an important for the region. Made in Flint & Genesee provides a way for consumers to identify products that are made here. The campaign will help people and businesses support their neighbors and that helps our region prosper."

Registered businesses that make, assemble and sell their own products in Flint and Genesee County will appear on a special page on the Chamber's website. They will also have use of a special logo which will help consumers identify the products and services that are locally produced. To be eligible for the program, businesses must register and be located in Flint & Genesee County, produce and sell a consumer product and be members of the chamber.
