So many NASCAR greats hold records at Michigan International Speedway.

Michigan International Speedway is just another awesome place we have in this great state. Not only is it home to a bunch of NASCAR events, but also home to the Faster Horses music festival, and more.

The two-mile, D-shaped track has wide corners and long straightaways making it the fastest track in NASCAR. As you'll see below, drivers can hit qualifying speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour. Michigan International Speedway first opened in 1968 with a seating capacity of 25,000 seats. Since then the track has gone through several renovations and now has a capacity of 56,000 seats.

The speedway has seen its fair share of great drivers over the course of its existence. Jeff Gordon, Dale Jarrett, Mark Martin, and more are just some of the current record holders in the history of MIS.

Coming up in 2022, NASCAR fans will descend upon Michigan International Speedway for many races including the Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400 on August 7th and The Xfinity Series race on August 6th. The annual Faster Horses county music festival will also take place on July 22nd, 23rd, and 24th this year.

I hate to say it, but I have never actually been to Michigan International Speedway. I have had several opportunities, but could never make it work. So, if any of you NASCAR fans have an opening for me while you're partying on the infield this year, just let me know. I will definitely come with cases of beer to share.
