Just like everything else this year, this wonderful event is happening...in a different way.

We're so excited that we were once again asked to be part of this wonderful event - Saturday, September 19th is the third annuual NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Genesee County Illuminate stroll for suicide awareness.

Last year, the stroll took place in downtown Flint. There were stations throughout, encouraging people to take care of their mental health. There was also a music station and a "22 push-up challenge for veterans" station.

Obviously, this year will look a bit different. The stroll itself is virtual and you're encouraged to walk the mile on your own time. There will be a live program on the NAMI Genesee County Facebook page starting at 6:30 PM.

According to their Facebook page:

*You are CHALLENGED to walk 1 mile (or more)
*You are CHALLENGED to do 22 pushups to raise awareness to stop
veteran suicides…
*You are CHALLENGED to take a picture in front of GHS located at 420
W. Fifth Avenue, Flint, MI 48503
*Make sure you snap a picture of your challenge! Get a group together
and hold a sign in the picture with your message!
*Each person that posts a picture on the NAMI Genesee Facebook page
from September 19th -September 26th will be entered into a drawing for various gift card prizes!
*We also will be giving away bags of free resources on Saturday,
September 26th from 10am until noon at our office located at 2346
Stonebridge Drive, Building H in Flint (right off of Linden Road)
Thank you to everybody who has been involved in this wonderful event!
