Magic Johnson: Fire Anyone At Michigan State Who Knew About Sexual Assault And Didn’t Act

Earvin "Magic" Johnson on Monday called for the firing of anyone at Michigan State who knew of alleged sexual assaults on campus but didn't act to stop it.

Johnson's remarks come just days after Larry Nassar was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison for molesting scores of women while serving as a doctor for MSU, and an ESPN report detailing systemic mishandling of sexual assault cases involving athletes at Michigan State.

MSU basketball coach Tom Izzo would not comment on the ESPN story's accusations. Friday night, football coach Mark Dantonio refuted the report's claims that he personally mishandled complains of sexual violence against Spartan football players.

MSU athletic director Mark Hollis abruptly retired Friday morning, about two hours before the ESPN report was published. Lou Anna Simon resigned as president of the university on Wednesday in the wake of the Larry Nassar scandal.

Johnson, a Lansing native, attended MSU from 1977 to 1979, leading the Spartans to a national championship in college basketball in his last year.
