Last Chevy Impala Rolls off the Line at Detroit Assembly Plant [VIDEO]
It was the end of an era on Thursday as the last Chevrolet Impala rolled off the line at General Motors' Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant.
The carmaker announced Monday it will pour $2.2 billion into the facility and make it the company's first plant dedicated to full-time production of electric vehicles.

According to WXYZ, the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant was slated to close in January. But a new contract with the UAW after the strike last fall breathed new life into the facility.
More than 16.8 million Impalas have been sold since the vehicle was introduced in 1958.
