Recall Alert: Tea Sold In Michigan Contains 2 Hidden Drugs
Another recall could affect your nighttime routine.
If you are a fan of drinking tea, you need to listen up.
Have you heard of the Himalayan Pain Relief Tea?
What Is The Recall For Tea Sold In Michigan?
WS Global, INC Brooklyn, NY has voluntarily recalled their Himalayan Pain Relief Tea packets.
Why?
In the FDA's press release, the agency explained the issue with both drugs.
Diclofenac is a non-steroidcal anti-inflammatory drug. It can cause increased risk of heart attack and stroke. It can also cause gastrointestinal damage.
"Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid commonly used to treat inflammatory conditions. Corticosteroid use can impair a person’s ability to fight infections and can cause high blood sugar levels, muscle injuries and psychiatric problems. When corticosteroids are taken for a prolonged period, or at high doses, they can suppress the adrenal gland. Only licensed health care professionals can evaluate patients for the risk or existence of adrenal suppression. In addition, the undeclared dexamethasone in Himalayan Pain Relief Tea may cause serious side effects when combined with other medications."
The Himalayan Pain Relief Tea was sold nationwide through Amazon and on their online website.
Thankfully, it is not affecting any stores in Michigan, just online buyers.
What Does Affected Tea Look Like?
In the press release, it states that,
"The product is used as tea and is packaged in a light-yellow box containing 6 tea packets, printed with barcode 0841920015. The affected Himalayan Pain Relief Tea lots include the following “ALL LOTS”."
