I love Michiganders, but I've always wondered why people who choose to live in Michigan still complain about the constant changes in weather. I mean, even a single day in Michigan can prove to be unpredictable at times.

Just to show how unpredictable Michigan weather can be, this is an actual picture I took from my car in April a few years back.

This is just one of many times that Michigan weather has made me say ugh.

On a side note, it also makes me wonder if the legendary Prince visited Michigan in the early '80s, leading up to his release of 'Sometimes It Snows in April' back in 1986.

Are Huge Michigan Winter Storms a Common Occurrence?

It was no surprise when The Storm That Buried Christmas in 2022 did nothing more than bring back memories of The Monster Snowstorm of 1999. Both storms dropped between 12-24 inches of snow, depending on where you were in Michigan. Here are a couple of pictures I snapped on December 25th, 2022.

However, most will take a Michigan snowstorm over ice storms. Michigan was graced by two of those at the end of February 2023. And ice storms hamper more than just the roadways. (I couldn't even get my car doors to open this day).

Does The Current Forecast Matter?

According to the Weather Channel's 10-Day forecast for the Lapeer County area during the time this piece was written, there is no snow in the forecast through the end of the month and temperatures should stay in the 40s, even low 50s.  But again, this is Michigan we're talking about.

So, the question is simple:

Will Michigan get another snow or ice storm in 2023?  And if so, will it be something we should be concerned about, or will it just be another day in the life of a Michigander?

It is understood that most of the people who will respond to this are not meteorologists.  So, don't worry, you will not be graded on this assignment. Serious and humorous answers are allowed (and encouraged).
