Is There An Age Limit For Trick-or-Treating in Michigan?
Trick-or-treating is basically a right of passage for every child growing up.
Are There Age Restrictions on Trick-or-Treating in Michigan?
But how old is too old for trick-or-treating?
In my opinion, I don't care how old you are... if you come to my door on Halloween, I'm going to give you a piece of candy. Particularly, if you're a teenager and you're going door-to-door asking for candy, there are a lot of poorer decisions that you could be making. But instead, you're out on Halloween getting candy? Here's a piece of candy.
And on top of that, if you don't want to give candy to kids that are "too old", then just don't buy candy to pass out.

Laws About Trick-or-Treating
I know there are people who are out there who feel differently than I do. And not just feel differently... they've made laws about how old you can be to trick-or-treat. Take this one Canadian town, for instance.
According to BBC News, Bathurst, New Brunswick has a bylaw that states, "No person(s) over the age of 14 yrs. shall take part in door-to-door soliciting (trick-or-treating)". It also says that any trick-or-treating has to finish by 7 pm. And if you get caught breaking those rules, you could pay a fine equal to about $149.
But that's Canada, not Michigan.
Michigan Trick-or-Treating Laws
In Michigan, you might be surprised to learn that we actually don't have any laws regarding age and trick-or-treating. So no, there is no age limit on trick-or-treating. So, trick-or-treat away, kids! Just make sure to be safe!
