The Gus Macker 3 on 3 Basketball Tourney Returns to Flint in July
Mark your calendars for July for the return of the Gus Macker tourney.
Each year the flat lot in downtown Flint comes alive with the Gus Macker 3 on 3 basketball tournament. This year the tournament returns to Flint, Michigan on Saturday, July 30th, and Sunday, July 31st, 2022.
What is the Gus Macker schedule for the weekend?
Even though the tournament only takes place on Saturday and Sunday, there are other events on Friday for fans and athletes to attend. The Gus Macker schedule is as follows:
- Friday, July 29th, 2022
- Registration
- Detroit Pistons Legions Camp
- Back to School Rally
- Car Show
- Saturday, July 30th, 2022
- Registration: 7 am until noon
- Opening Ceremonies: 8 am
- Games begin at 8:30 am
- Youngsters Free Throw Contest: 11 am
- Free Throw Contest: Noon
- Youngsters 3 Point Contest: 1 pm
- Slam Dunk Contest: 5 PM after games
- Sunday, July 31st, 2022
- Games Resume: 8:30 am

To compete in the Gus Macker 3 on 3 basketball tournament, click here to register. The team entry fee is $160 and is due by July 11th, 2022.
How does the tournament work?
Anyone can play in the Gus Macker Tournament. Teams are guaranteed at least three scheduled games in the tournament. It is a double-elimination tournament with a consolation bracket called the "Toilet Bowl.
