The Lansing plant will now go down to having only two shifts per day.

GM made the announcment on Monday that will affect 1,100 positions including 14 salaried positions.

The motor company plans to move 800 of the job that were cut here in Michigan to Spring Hill, Tennessee where plant workers will build the new GMC Acadia.

According to a GM spokeswoman the number of employees affected is less than 1,100 considering some of the shift workers are planning to retire or are on sick leave.
