State Senator John Gleason (D-Flushing) is pleased that the Pure Michigan travel magazine will be printed by a Michigan-based company. While the Iowa company Meredith/Midwest Living was awarded the contract to publish the magazine once again, a new stipulation in their contract will require them to use a Michigan printer.

"This is a great day for our state and the Pure Michigan campaign. I've always said there's no reason this magazine can't be produced in our state," said Gleason. "Michigan taxpayers are paying for this magazine, it only stands to reason that Michigan citizens should benefit from the jobs it creates."

Since testimony during a Senate committee earlier this year revealed that the Pure Michigan magazine was printed out of state, Gleason has been an outspoken advocate in support of having a Michigan company receive the contract.
