Actor and television host, and also a Flint native, Terry Crews may have just changed a young man's life and gained a little brother all at the same time on Tuesday night's  America's Got Talent.

Kicking off season 17 of the popular talent competition, and a personal fav of mine when it comes to competition shows, AGT brought its "A" game with some incredible performances, but the night would belong to 21yo sax player Avery Dixon.

Dixon took the stage, visibly nervous, and told the judges his story. As Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel listened he explained he started playing the saxophone as a way to forget about the pain he was in from being bullied at school. He told the judges he was born premature at just 1 pound, 8 ounces.

"At the time I picked up the saxophone, I was getting bullied in elementary school," he told the talent panel. "My voice sounds a little bit different and I looked a little bit different, too. My elementary school nickname was Hammerhead, because I have these knots on my head because I’m premature. And my vocal cords don’t close all the way, so it makes my voice sound really airy."

That's about the time I started tearing up right along with the audience, and standing side stage, Terry Crews. Crews was visibly taken back by the young man's story especially after hearing he had thought about taking his own life, but what happened next made the whole world love Terry Crews even more.

After Dixon completely nailed his performance and blew the entire audience & judges away, it was time to vote. It was clear from Simon Cowell that the young man was going to get a "yes", but Crews had something to say about it all.

From backstage Crews came running out shouting, "There's no need to vote!". He then, just before hitting the Golden Buzzer to send the young sax player right to the live shows said,

"You touched the heart of every human being in this building right now. And I want to tell you, man, you’ve been bullied all your life, but you tell every bully that you have a big brother named Terry Crews....who is here, who’s got your back."

The two embraced on stage and left everyone emotional, and loving Terry Crews a little bit more.
