The Flint Police Department could be potentially getting a helicopter to help cut down on the recent spike in crime in the city of Flint. Now the only downside is that we have to wait on the Flint City Council to approve the leasing of the helicopter.

The money for the helicopter is actually coming from impounded vehicles, impounded vehicles, and other violations. Which eventually added up to $304,000 for the city to use.

During a special meeting on Monday Flint Police Chief Terrence Green said the chopper would be in the air at least four days during the week and would be deployed during peak crime hours.

After a recent report showing the rise in crime in the city of Flint any unfair advantages we can get are much needed. It's no secret that Flint has problems containing all the crime, and a lot of that comes from the lack of staff and equipment. With this new helicopter, you can imagine how much more work they can get done especially when catching high-speed vehicles. Or just being able to respond to an area faster with a helicopter might make the difference between getting away, and getting caught.
