Flint Mayor Karen Weaver hasn't paid her water bills since July according to city records obtained by MLive.

Mlive also reports that since the beginning of 2013, the bill which is in her husband's name, has routinely not been paid off, has racked up multiple non-payment penalties and carried balances over $1,000. After a water bill credit of almost $1,400 in April the couple currently owes just under $530 for their bill at their residence.

When contacted Wednesday, Weaver said that she was unaware of the unpaid bill and that her husband handled the account.

Just last month, the city said it would start issuing shut off notices to water customers with delinquent bills in order to meet the demands from the state to keep receiving water credits. Flint has to have a 70 percent collection rate in order to continue receiving money from a water relief fund signed by Governor Snyder earlier this year.
