Flint Emergency Manager Michael Brown today released the Comprehensive Financial and Operating Plan for the City of Flint. The 10-page plan provides an overview of the City's current financial condition and looks at many of the contributing factors. Also included in the plan, are overviews of other key areas of concern including Public Safety and Infrastructure/Development.

The plan also highlights projects in progress, projects under assessment, and key next steps in getting Flint's financial and operating house in order.

Brown said today that the plan is just the beginning. "It is a work in progress and it will be amended as necessary. The next step is the implementation process and I see that as being the most difficult challenge," said Brown.

The plan was required by the State of Michigan within 45 days of Brown's December 1, 2011 appointment as Emergency Manager. It was submitted to the State Department of Treasury on Sunday, January 15, 2012.
