It's not summer in Michigan without an Eddie Money show at DTE/Pine Knob, and it will never be the same again.

The passing of the 70-year-old rock star hits a special nerve for all the Michiganders who made it an annual tradition to attend his Memorial Day weekend show at Pine Knob, later on known as DTE Music Theatre.

The singer kicked off the concert season in Clarkston every year for almost three decades and, in a recent interview, said that it was "the most exciting show I do every year."

In terms of attendance, the DTE/Pine Knob shows were also some of his most well attended of the entire year.

Rest in Peace, Eddie. The mitt will miss you.
