We are still a few weeks away from the NFL Draft.  As the Lions get ready to draft players, the team released the preseason opponents for the preseason games in August.

According to the Detroit Lions,  their preseason schedule will include some familiar names.  Once again the Lions will take on the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills in the preseason.

The other two teams will be the Houston Texans and a team that coach Matt Patricia is very familiar with the New England Patriots.

The full dates and times will be released at a later date.  The Lions will open the preseason against the Patriots at home.  They will play the Texans on the road the week of August 15-19.

The game against Buffalo will be at home and  televised on August 23rd by CBS.  The final preseason game will be in Cleveland.   The NFL draft will begin on April 25th. The Lions currently have the number 8 selection in the first round.
