Brad Pitt has been cleared by the FBI regarding an incident that reportedly occurred on a private jet between the Benjamin Button actor and his son, Maddox, according to TMZ.

"The FBI has conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation," they said in a statement. "No charges have been filed in this matter."

The FBI conducted a thorough investigation regarding an alleged physical altercation between Pitt and Maddox that took place on a private plane, which occurred in September, just days before Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from the Inglourious Basterds star. Jolie reportedly sat for a four-hour interview at her Los Angeles home with the FBI last month, and other potential witnesses were also questioned, according to US Weekly.

News of the FBI’s conclusion comes less than two weeks after the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services announced they’d also cleared Pitt of child abuse allegations regarding his plane argument with Maddox, according to TMZ.

Jolie and Pitt, meanwhile, are reportedly still embroiled in a custody battle over their six children -- 15-year-old Maddox, 12-year-old Pax, 11-year-old Zahara, 10-year-old Shiloh, and 8-year-old twins Knox and Vivienn.

Jolie initially filed for primary custody of the kids with Pitt getting visitation rights, so long as a therapist is present. Pitt, however, filed legal documents in November asking for joint custody.
