Allegiant is enlarging its footprint at Flint Bishop Airport.

In an announcement today, Allegiant Travel Company revealed plans to make a base of operations at Flint Bishop Airport. The company will be investing $75 million into the project to create a new aircraft and crew base in Flint.

One of the best parts about this announcement is that the project will end up creating 89 high-wage jobs and also bring in three Airbus A320 aircraft. Allegiant plans to begin operations at Flint Bishop Airport on February 16th, 2022.

Not only will Allegiant Travel Company be adding this base of operations, but the company also announced a new nonstop flight to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport from Flint. This new service will start flying on November 18th, 2021 with a special introductory one-way fare as low as $59.

Flint has been a great location for Allegiant, where our presence and success have grown each year...it makes perfect sense to establish an aircraft and crew base in Flint, further embedding Allegiant in the community as a hometown airline. Having locally-based operations will mean opportunities for expanded hours, as well as more – and more frequent – flight offerings for local residents. We are grateful to our outstanding partners at Flint Bishop International Airport for working to make this exciting step in Allegiant’s growth a reality...said Keith Hansen, Allegiant’s Vice President of Government Affairs.

It is awesome to see this growth at Flint Bishop Airport. I plan to travel a lot in the future and having Bishop right in our backyard is awesome. I'm looking forward to flying into Bishop in September.
