Al Roker truly is a man of the people. He loses weight. He makes jokes. He video bombs 'Today Show' segments by freezing in place. And apparently he can't resist telling everybody when he has a little accident at the White House. The admission, which came out during an interview on 'Dateline,' has him catching all kinds of flak, but we have to admit we're impressed.

After all, he managed to hold on to this secret for 10 long years. Who among us could sit on a precious nugget (sorry) like this for that long without spilling the beans (sorry again)? Roker was chatting with NBC correspondent Nancy Snyderman, when he shared with the world his take on the age-old story of gambling on a fart and losing.

Unlike the rest of us slobs, Roker has a valid excuse -- apparently this sort of thing is fairly common for somebody who's had gastric bypass surgery.

According to Roker, "I probably went off and ate something I wasn't supposed to .... As I'm walking to the press room, I go, 'I have to pass a little gas here.' So I'm walking by myself, going 'who's going to know'? Only a little something extra came out."

Just to make it extra-clear, Snyderman follows that up with "You pooped in your pants."

Roker confirmed it -- "I pooped my pants."

He then went on to explain how he tossed out his soiled underpants and went "commando." Because that's what you do when you soil yourself on the way to the White House press room. You can't just go home and laugh-cry in a corner in the dark. That's for later. Everyone knows that.

Let's stop picking on Roker for oversharing and commend him for being able to look the President of the United States of America in the eyes mere minutes after taking a number two in public. Bravo, sir. Bravo.

Watch Al's confession below.
