March Madness is here and the means everyone trying to fill out a blemish free bracket, so here are 5 tips to help out with your 2015 NCAA Tournament bracket.

Before I even suggest anything though, please understand that I'm no expert, and that filling out a perfect bracket is just about impossible.  If it were easy, there wouldn't be people offering a million dollars to do it.  That being said, here are a few nuggets that may help you.

1. It's Been 39 Years Since An Undefeated Team Has Won The NCAA Tournament

Everyone is pretty sure that Kentucky is the best team in the country, but that doesn't mean they'll dance through the tournament.  Things change is March, and April making even the most invincible teams, a little more vulnerable.  Now, if you asked me if Kentucky was going to win it all, the answer is yes.  I just thought it's only fair to throw out that bit of tourney trivia.

2.  Don't Pick All Of The Number 1 Seeds To Make It Into The Final Four

It seems like the logical choice, but avoid the temptation to create a "Chalk Bracket".  The phenomenon has only happened ONCE in tournament history, in 2008.  In fact, most of the time, the Final Four only contains one top seed.  Kentucky is probably the one seed to ride with this year.  Wisconsin and Duke are most likely the two top seeds that will exit the tournament first.

3. Use The Seeds To Make Easy Decisions

A 16 seed will never beat a 1 seed, no matter how cool it would be, or how close it has come to happening before.  The 12 over 5 seed is a real thing, and happens at least once pretty much every year.  The 11 seed is also a dangerous lower seed, winning a little more than 50% of their first round games.

4. Kenpom.com Is The Real Expert In March Madness, Use It.

I've filled out countless brackets, and only last year found out what Kenpom is, so don't feel bad if you're just now hearing about it.  The site is basically an information treasure trove for March Madness fans.

5. Flipping A Coin When You Can't Decide, Might Be The Best Decision You Could Make

A Professor at the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology says that flipping a coin to decide any of your tough calls on your bracket is the best way to go.  The research suggests that a bracket using nothing but coin flips, actually does better than the national average.  I don't think you should be quick to the quarter in the early rounds, but some of the tough call matchups would probably be best decided by a flip.

There are so many factors that go into how a team plays in the tournament, and nobody can know them all.  The stats and tips often contradict each other, so really your best bet is to be 20% informed, and 80% lucky.
