Walling Re-Elected, Scott Ousted

courtesy Mayor Walling

The votes are in after yesterday’s elections and Flint Mayor Dayne Walling will continue in that roll for another four-years after beating challenger Darryl Buchanan. In unofficial counts from the Genesee County Clerk’s website, Walling received 8,819 votes to Buchanan’s 6,869.

Elsewhere, in Burton Paula Zelenko will serve another term as Mayor and in Grand Blanc its Susan Soderstrom taking the gavel.

In perhaps the most controversial, most publicized challenge facing voters, State Representative Paul Scott, of the 51st District and Grand Blanc, was recalled.  12,284 voted “yes” to remove him from office while 12,087 voted “no” to attempt to keep him in office.
