The Detroit Red Wings announced today that forward Pavel Datsyuk underwent knee surgery and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Datsyuk had minor arthroscopic surgery this morning to clean up some fragments in his knee after complaining of pain. Datsyuk leads the Wings in points. Foward Danny Cleary's return from his own knee injury is expected to alleviate some of pain with Datsyuk's loss.
