Newly elected Flint City Councilman Eric Mays was arrested early Saturday morning for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana.

According to a news release from the Flint Police Department, officers were dispatched  to southbound I-475 just north of Carpenter Road around 3 a.m. this morning in reference to a property damage accident. Upon arrival, officers met with Genesee Township officers who were already on the scene. Flint officers learned that the vehicle involved had been traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-475 on four flat tires. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Eric Bradford Mays of Flint.

Flint Police arrested Mays who was also cited for No Proof of Insurance and Failure to Submit to Fingerprinting. Mays is currently lodged at the Flint City Lock-Up pending arraignment.
