The Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters sent out a letter to its members today urging them to vote against the recall of embattled Representative Paul Scott of Grand Blanc.

The letter dated October 31 and authored by Mike Jackson, Executive Secretary/Treasurer of the MRCC, says "the recall attempt is uncalled for" and "there is nothing in Paul Scott's conduct as an elected official or in his personal affairs to warrant removal from office." Jackson goes on to say that Scott is "working hard and honestly to represent his district in Lansing."

Jackson adds that the recall process was not put in place because "we don't like someone's policies" but for more serious, exceptional wrongs by elected officials. He concluded saying "we need to work together, NOW, to reach meaningful consensus on pressing issues like jobs, the State budget and taxation, business attraction, infrastructure improvement and overall economic growth."
