A point of contention was sparked during the public comments segment of the Flint City Council meeting.

Flint resident Donna Poplar addressed the council and made known her dissatisfaction with the possibility of one of the Mayor’s “volunteer advisors”, Mr. A. Gilchrist, possibly in line to be paid $120,000.00 of taxpayer funds.

In the accompanying video Mrs. Poplar forcefully states her case as to why this payment should not be made. Her remarks were echoed by 2nd Ward Councilwoman Jacqueline Poplar, who also made requests of the City Attorney to research if at any time in the City of Flint’s past, had payments to a “volunteer” ever been made.
