Genesee County Circuit Court Judge Farah has issued a two week restraining order for waste collection inside the City of Flint.

According to Councilman Scott Kincaid, Judge Farah issued the restraining order this morning in court which means that Republic will continue to pick up trash and recycling in Flint. A representative from Republic confirmed they will continue picking up garbage tomorrow.

The emergency court hearing came after Flint Mayor Karen Weaver terminated a 90-day temporary agreement with Republic on Friday and signed a new contract with Rizzo. Weaver has said she wants the city to switch waste collection to reportedly save $2 million over the 5 year contract.
