Computer Issues Lead to Estimated Water Bills for Flint Residents

The City of Flint has announced that water bills due for January 27 & 28, and all bills with due dates in February, will reflect “estimated” meter reads rather than “actual” reads.

The City of Flint’s Customer Service Department says an equipment failure at the Water Service Center is to blame for the problem and the issue is being corrected. The estimates for residents’ water bills will be based on an average of an individual’s home’s regular usage. Once the problem is resolved, any high estimates will be credited on the following bill cycle.
