The City of Flint's Treasury and Customer Service offices will close on Friday, August 30th to allow for much needed upgrades to a new computer system. Both offices will reopen Tuesday, September 3rd.

The upgraded computer systems in Treasury and Customer Service are part of a larger overall plan to upgrade information technology services throughout the City of Flint's various departments. The technology upgrade also includes training for all workers on the new systems as well as a capital improvement component that will ensure Flint is brought up to date with current technology periodically.

According to the City of Flint, the upgrades will serve to increase the efficiency of city government and bring it in line with the most current technologies. Similar upgrades are taking place in the area of public safety with the conversion of those systems to new virtual servers. That conversion will take place over the next two months.
