These spiders aren't only rare, but dangerous if they bite you.

Genesee County can now be added to the list of counties that have had brown recluse spider discoveries after a family in Davison found the brown recluse spiders in their garage.

Brown recluse spiders are normally found in dark places like attics and basements, and are usually easy to spot in Southern states. The spiders however are transported through items like luggage and plants.

Also known as violin spiders, they are only one of two species of spiders in North America that contain neurotic venom. Being bit by a brown recluse spider is painful and may require medical attention. Pain from the bite can occur 2 to 8 hours after being bit and can cause hemolysis.

Experts say if you find a brown recluse spider to call the pest control or the Michigan Department of Agriculture.
