Bay City has issued a state of emergency due to a water main break and the shortage it is causing. According to WNEM, city officials say the emergency will remain in effect until the leak has been identified and a water use emergency has been lifted. Repair crews searched for the break throughout the weekend. It is draining as much as 10 million gallons a day. If the break isn't found today, the city's reserves could be emptied today (Monday). A water usage ban is now in effect for all consumers who receive their water form the City of Bay City Water Treatment Plant.
