About 20 Applications Received for New City Administrator Job

Jason Cooper, WFNT

About 20 applications have been received for the new city administrator position in Flint. According to MLive, Emergency Manager Darnell Earley had hoped for more, but wasn’t surprised due to the problems still facing the city. Earley said ” I haven’t seen the number I would like to have seen…but distressed communities don’t attract a lot of candidates.” Earley would like to see the list of applicants narrowed down to five, with interviews in public, and a recommendation from a yet-to-be selected committee. Earley hopes to have a new administrator hired by January 30, 2015. His 18-month appointment as emergency manager could end in April.
