10 Things to Do in Mid-Michigan This Weekend — September 8-10
The kids are back in school, but the weekend fun doesn’t stop for Flint and Mid-Michigan.
Frankenmuth Auto Fest
The Frankenmuth Auto Fest kicks off with a craft show Friday at 10a and cruises all the way through Sunday with a big block party, entertainment, food, and over 2000 great rides on Weiss Street.
Bikes on the Bricks
You know the drill — Back to the Bricks on two-wheels. Jump on your hog or crotch-rocket and cruise on down to Saginaw Street, or just come join in the fun.
Flint Art Walk
Enjoy the works of local artists on display as you stroll down Saginaw Street during the monthly second-Friday Art Walk, which runs from 6p-9p.
Little Caesars Arena Public Tours
Your tax dollars helped pay for it, so you might as well take a stroll through and get familiar with the new home of both the Red Wings and the Pistons. Public tours of the new arena begin @ 2p.
Free Softball & Baseball Youth Clinic
SVSU’s varsity softball and baseball coaching staffs host a free clinic teaching basic skills for kids grades K-8, get there by 12:45p to register, and the camp runs until 1:30p.
12th Annual Walk for Autism
Join the Autism Support & Resource Center for the 1/3 mile casual walk and family fun day starting at 10a. All proceeds go to help local people with Autism.
Michigan Renaissance Festival
The Ren Fest is back for another great season out at Holly Grove this Saturday at 10a. This weekend’s celebration of the Wonders of the World runs until 7p Sunday. Ticket prices: Adults $22.95 | Kids 5-12 $13.95 | Seniors 65+ & College Students $20.95
Bob Seger & Greta Van Fleet
There he goes… up on the stage… playing another sold out show to a crowd of captivated fellow Michiganders. This time, Bob is bringing Zeppelin-esque Frankenmuth up-and-comers Greta Van Fleet along for the ride. Tickets are still available on the secondary market, but they’re going to cost you.
High Times Cannabis Cup
The medical Cannabis celebration is back at Auto City, with seminars and a pretty impressive lineup of performers, including Method Man & Redman, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Wyclef Jean, Akon, Royce da 5’9″, Trick Trick, and more. Weekend passes are available from $75, while one-day passes start at $40 (prices are before fees).
Arizona Cardinals Vs. Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions kick off their regular season at home against the Cardinals, where we will see if Matt Stafford’s arm has recovered from pulling in the largest salary in NFL history last week.
