1960 — Johnny Unitas of the Baltimore Colts threw for two touchdowns in a 20-15 loss to the Detroit Lions at Baltimore, his record 47th consecutive game in which he had thrown a scoring pass. (More info.)

1960 — Paul Hornung of the Green Bay Packers scored 23 points in a 41-13 win over the Chicago Bears at Wrigley Field. With two games left to play, Hornung had 152 points, breaking the NFL season record of 138 set by the Packers' Don Hutson in 1942. (More info.)
