Teenager Carves Own Name Into 3,500-Year-Old Relic
Oh no, the Egyptians are going to be maaaaad...
A family in Nanjing, China, recently found themselves both embarrassed and speechless when they learned that their 15-year-old son defaced a 3,500-year-old Egyptian relic. Unfortunately, the tool used to ruin the Luxor temple relic wasn't a marker or pencil -- the kid left his mark by carving "Ding Jinhao was here." Apparently, even though we don't speak the same language, our teenage population has the same sense of humor.
The story has brought about arguments from both sides, with some claiming the child hasn't been properly parented and others saying that little Ding Jinhao isn't the only tourist to leave graffiti on relics.
What do you think? Is this a case of a teen just being a teen? Or should he be punished for defacing a priceless relic?
