Based on the images we’ve seen so far (and just the images), it’s fair to assume that Justice League is a movie about A. a long-haired metal-head who starts a rock cover band with a group of people in unnecessarily elaborate costumes, or B. a team of superheroes who spend their time aggressively posing and staring at things offscreen. Either way, it seems like it could be a good time.
Unfortunate news for fans of former Lois Lane and revered star Noel Neill, as the iconic Adventures of Superman star has passed away at age 95. Neill had portrayed the famous DC supporting character as early as 1948, including cameos in both Richard Donner’s 1978 update and 2006's Superman Returns.
After yesterday’s three new Batman vs. Superman images from the pages of Empire magazine, today we have even more from the upcoming superhero film. From that same magazine article, we have both Ben Affleck and director Zack Snyder talking about this film’s version of Batman (which Affleck describes as a “f---ed up Batman”), plus a bunch of new photos from the film.
Following the Batman vs. Superman info dump that came out of Comic-Con, we thought it might be a while before we saw or heard anything from the upcoming superhero movie. After all, we did get an extended new trailer, new images and a new poster. But today, we have three new Batman vs. Superman pics each showing off one of the film’s three main characters: Batman, Superman and Lex Luthor.
Current Superman and Man of Steel star Henry Cavill was officially cast in the role in January of 2011. But, seven years earlier Cavill was also cast as Kal-El in a different Superman project. That film, which was written by J.J. Abrams and would've been directed by McG, was eventually canceled and Cavill never shot a frame of Superman. Until many years later when he was called back for a new Superman reboot and given the job. This is just one of the facts packed into the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies, which follows the last son of Krypton in Man of Steel!
We really don't know much about how Wonder Woman will fit into the plot of 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.' We do know that she's being played by Gal Gadot and that she will, somehow, get some screen time alongside Henry Cavill's Superman, Ben Affleck's Batman and Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. But that's about it ... until now! Thanks to a tiny snippet (caught on Vine, no less) we now know that DC's Amazon warrior will forego her classic origin story in favor of her modern beginning.
Joaquin Phoenix gave us one of the best sci-fi films of the year with his performance in Spike Jonze's 'Her,' but will the star now turn his attention to the comic book universe? While Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. are looking to fill in the ranks of the upcoming 'Batman vs. Superman' movie, the studio is reportedly eyeing Phoenix to take on the villain role.
