Rico Phillips has always put his heart into the Flint Inner City Youth Hockey League, and last night he received recognition from the NHL.

We LOVE Rico and we are SO happy for him!

He only appeared in 46 games but Filip Hronek has been named Detroit Red Wings rookie of the year by the Detroit Sports Media.

Rico Phillips is a staple in Flint hockey, and is now one of three people nominated for the NHL's Willie O'Reed Community Hero Award.
