The demolition of Delphi Flint East began last year and now the part of the facility most visible from Center Rd is almost completely gone.

Six years after its Dort Highway companion was reduced to rubble, the Delphi Flint East (formerly A.C. Spark Plug) facility on Center Rd is following suit -- see photos and video of the ongoing demolition here.

On Tuesday, workers at the Delphi Flint East plant were notified that operations will end there in November this year. According to WNEM, there are almost 300 hourly employees working at the plant. Of those jobs, 50 are direct employees of General Motors and will be able to go to another GM facility when openings occur...

Autoparts supplier Delphi said its buying back ownership from General Motors and the U.S. for $4.4 billion dollars. Delphi is paying G.M. $3.8 billion and $594 million to Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp for the share that are held by both, respectively. Find out more after the jump.
