Syrian News Reports Flint Woman Killed There
The state-led news in Syria is reporting that a Flint woman has been killed there.
According to WNEM, the news website says 33-year-old Flint resident Nicole Mansfield is dead along with another pair of Westerners. Pictures of her body have been posted to the site and Syrian news reports she was killed by loyal forces claiming she was a rebel fighter.
The state department issued a statement saying they were aware of the case and are working through "our Czech protecting power in Syria to obtain more information."
Mansfield attended Atherton High School in Burton through the 10th grade.
