There was a meeting of the Medical Marijuana Board yesterday, and it took quite an unexpected turn.

According to reports from MLive, the Michigan Medical Marijuana Board met yesterday to discuss regulatory procedures. One of the board members suggested that all dispensaries that are currently open should shut down by September 15th until the board can start processing licenses throughout the state by December.

Of course, you can imagine a lot of patients and advocates in the crowd were not very happy about the possibility of being left with no place to turn to for their medications. The board did adjourn, but not before postponing any decisions on the matter until their next official meeting in October. However, it is possible that they could reconvene before then to make a decision.

If you would like to voice your concerns, you are asked to contact the Medical Marijuana Board by their official email: LARA-MedicalMarihuana@michigan.gov
