‘Simpsons’ Skewering Trump University With Neil deGrasse Tyson, Suze Orman
The Simpsons has pulled few punches when it comes to presidential candidate Donald Trump (they kind of owe it to themselves), and Season 28 will feature a trio of major experts to take on the infamous “Trump University.” Not only will Neil deGrasse Tyson lend his voice, so too will Suze Orman and screenwriter Robert McKee.
TVLine picked up on an item revealed at Comic-Con 2016, specifically that an upcoming Season 28 episode would feature noted billionaire Mr. Burns aping alleged billionaire Donald Trump with an episode invoking the Trump University scandal. Burns will of course open a “Burns University,” with the series calling on the vocal talents of financial guru Suze Orman, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and screenwriter Robert McKee as a “super team of educators.”
Says executive producer Al Jean:
We have a great episode where Burns goes to Yale and discovers, much to his horror, how politically correct it is. So he starts his own college, Burns University, which is similar to another billionaire’s university you might have heard of lately.
Elsewhere of Season 28, this year will see The Simpsons reaching 600 episodes with its latest “Treehouse of Horror,” set to feature Sarah Silverman, Drew Carey and Kelsey Grammer. Other landmark events will see the series airing its first hour-long episode, given an Empire bent with guest stars like Taraji P. Henson and Keegan-Michael Key in a hip-hop take on The Great Gatsby. Other voices include Patton Oswalt, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Allison Janney, Matt Leinart and world-chess champion Magnus Carlsen.
Season 28 will premiere on Sunday, September 25, but what other political shots might The Simpsons get in ahead of November?
