The Community Economic Development Association of Michigan has announced Flint will host a Show Me the Money Day event in Flint on Saturday. The event - also held in 10 other communities - connect people with numerous resources to help them achieve financial stability through savings, education, entrepreneurship and home ownership opportunities.

The events, sponsored by Consumers Energy, offer free financial educations workshops, tips on saving and credit building, access to low-cost financial services from local financial institutions and information on where taxpayers can have their income tax returns prepared and filed for free.

State Senator Jim Ananich of Flint said "providing resources to make sure Michigan taxpayers can be more financially secure helps our economy and our families. Show Me the Money Day events, like the one this Saturday in Flint, are an excellent opportunity to help people take ownership of their financial stability and improve their self-sufficiency."

Show Me the Money Day in Flint runs from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 25 at Vernon Chapel located at 5802 Dupont St. in Flint.
