Michigan’s Sleeping Bear Dunes Had Its 50 Millionth Visitor This Week
They had no idea until they were greeted with a crowd, applause and gifts.
Meghan Boertman and her family arrived at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore on Monday to an enormous welcome that they weren't expecting - she was the 50 millionth visitor to the national park.
She arrived with her husband Spencer and their boys Jacoby and Levi. They were given a plush black bear, and annual pass and a DVD of the slideshow that they show in the visitor's center of the dunes.
Her initial reaction was, "I thought this was how you greeted everybody, but then I realized it was a much bigger deal."
