A week or so ago, I posted a question on the Crap I Cooked in Quarantine Facebook page. My question was in regards to Michigan Thanksgiving side dishes. I was curious about non-traditional sides that Michiganders enjoy on Turkey Day.

First of all thank you to those of you that did respond. Just reading your answers made me hungry. Believe me, there will be some new dishes (thanks to all of you) being served this year at my family's Thanksgiving dinner.

I put together some of your dishes that intrigued me the most (see below). If you would like to see my original inquiry on the Crap I Cooked in Quarantine page, and read all of the delicious suggestions, click here. Again, thank you for the overwhelming response.

A traditional Thanksgiving dinner seems to always include the following sides,

  • Green Bean Casserole
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Stuffing

This year have fun and prepare new side dishes to spice up your Thanksgiving Day. Some of the dishes below may already be a part of your Thanksgiving. Trust me, there are some great ideas and suggestions. You may even start a new side dish tradition with some of the following recipes (click each individual food picture below for ingredients and prep instructions). Happy Thanksgiving.
