It's only been 7 months since Michigan enforced its ban on smoking in bars and restaurants, and it really seems to be taking it's toll on bar owners; mLive.com reports:

“It’s definitely a rough time for some places, I’m not going to mince words,” said Ed Parsekian, the Public Health-Muskegon County employee charged with enforcing the ban.

In a recent survey, “a lot of people said their business is down,” Parsekian said. “If they have entertainment or food, they’re OK. But the ‘bar bars’ — wow.”

Michigan enforced this law with good intentions to protect the health of the public, and workers that had to work in public smoking places. Do you think that this will really hurt the economy more in Michigan with more and more people not heading to bars because of the smoking ban?
