The experts have spoken and the 2021 MI Golf Course of the Year has been revealed.

As you know, I am a huge fan of golf. I love the game and just enjoy being on the course with friends. When summer rolls around, the only thing that is on my mind is golf. I love trying new courses and it looks like I have another to put on the bucket list.

According to the Michigan Golf Course Association, the Course of the Year for 2021 is Island Resort & Casino's Sweetgrass course. I have never played this course but hopefully can make it up there next summer. Also, I have never been to Michigan's Upper Peninsula so what better reason to go right?

Island Resort & Casino actually has two courses for golf enthusiasts to check out, with Sweetgrass being the original course and newly crowned champ. Sweetgrass offers golfers an open park-land layout and the famous No. 15 island green, which I really want to check out. Sweetgrass has also been ranked in Golfweek's Best Courses and was recognized by GOLF Magazine and Golf Digest as a Best in the State course.

The other course at Island Resort & Casino is Sage Run Golf Club. Sage Run is somewhat of the opposite of Sweetgrass and offers a prairie links-style experience. It too has received accolades from other golf publications.

I am not definitely planning a trip up there next summer. Golf and a casino! What more could I even ask for.
