Ward's Dealer Business Magazine has published its annual list of the Top 500 Automotive Dealerships in the nation and it revealed that the Al Serra Auto Plaza in Grand Blanc was number one in the nation for used vehicle sales in 2011.

According to the official figures released by Wards, the Al Serra Auto Plaza sold 4,219 used vehicles for the year, edging out a Charleston, West Virginia dealership by 30 units to ear the top ranking.

"After finishing fourth in the nation for used vehicle sales in 2010, we were of course delighted, but, more importantly, we were determined to do better," said Joe Serra, President of Serra Automotive. "No matter how hard you work, you can always find ways to improve your performance and our team put that philosophy into practice."

Not only did the Al Serra Auto Plaza improve its ranking in used vehicle sales volume, the dealership also jumped two spots from the previous year to finish 2011 ranked number four nationwide in new vehicle sales by delivering 5,211 units.

The number one and two dealerships for new car sales were located in Los Angeles, California and Kellogg, Idaho respectively.

"I know people hear me say this over and over again, but the entire credit for this remarkable achievement goes to everyone on our Al Serra team," said Serra. "Day in and day out, every individual here serves our customers to the best of their ability. I couldn't be more proud to be associated with each and every one of them."
