Lapeer Police Find Bank Robber Because Of His Getaway Vehicle

It's straight out of Lapeer!

The Elba Township branch of Lapeer County Bank and Trust (this is where I bank!) was robbed at gunpoint yesterday afternoon. There were three tellers working at the time, but no customers were in the bank lobby. No one was hurt, but an undetermined amount of money was taken.

Lapeer County deputies announced today that they have taken that robber into custody, thanks to tips as to his choice of a getaway vehicle.

That vehicle was a snowmobile...stolen recently in Richfield Township, near Davison. Deputies were able to literally track this idiot down and arrest him.

It's expected that he will be formally charged today.
