As we welcome in a new year, it's the perfect time for Michiganders to reflect on ways to make the most of living in the Mitten State.

There are plenty of resolutions that can enhance your Michigan experience. In this article, I am sharing some fun and practical resolutions that every Michigan resident should consider for 2025.

New Year's Resolution That All Michiganders Should Adopt

Resolution: Learn to drive on icy roads without panicking.

Even if you’ve lived in Michigan all your life, the first snow always feels like a surprise. From my observations, some people need to retake a few driving courses.

Resolution: Support local businesses more often.
Michigan is home to so many great local spots and businesses. With the holiday season, it is the perfect time to travel around your area and check out different businesses.

So, give them some love into the new year.

Resolution: Get outside and enjoy the outdoors more

From the dunes to the lakes, Michigan has incredible natural beauty waiting to be explored. There is so much to do from snowshoeing, hiking, kayaking, and more.

The weather might be unpredictable, but it’s part of the charm, right?

Resolution: UP Trip

Take a trip to the Upper Peninsula (UP) because you’ve been meaning to for years.

Am I talking to myself? Absolutely!

However, I know that I am not alone. It’s beautiful, but you keep saying you’ll ‘get around to it. So, I am declaring that 2025 is the year!

Resolution: Get better at driving

The amount of people who I cannot get through roundabouts or the S-curve without feeling confused is an issue.

Roundabouts are everywhere in Michigan now. It’s time to master them. Please and thank you!

Resolution: Embrace the true Michigan spirit

What better way to embrace the true Michigan spirit than by supporting the Detroit Lions... through thick and thin?

Shoutout to the tried and true fans who love the team through some tough seasons. This past season was for you. Hopefully, in 2025, the Detroit Lions will keep up the good work, thanks to all of your support.
