You have to admit, winter in Michigan definitely has its beautiful moments. Whether it's just the picturesque look of a fresh snowfall or the many events that capitalize on the season, Michigan does winter upright.

According to Country Living, Michigan has not one, but two cities landing on the list of "40 of the Prettiest American Towns to Visit During the Winter", with one making the top 5.  The list is comprised of towns that make the perfect winter getaways with their whimsical vibes and seasonal activities. Although there are a slew of towns we could easily see making the list, these two towns come as no surprise if you've had a chance to check them out during the winter.

Coming in at #14 on the list is Michigan's favorite Christmas town, Frankenmuth. Even in the heat of summer, it still feels a little bit like winter, especially at the world's largest Christmas store, Bronners, but winter is when the town shines.

"More than three million people visit this small town of just 5,000 people, with many coming to enjoy the wintry festivities, from sleigh rides to a Christmas tree light show", the bio reads.

Honestly, I thought Frankenmuth would have made the top ten, but that honor went to Rochester, making the list in the #4 slot.

Always a fun town to visit for shopping and restaurants, the town comes alive during the holiday season lights. The annual Big Bright Light Show draws thousands to stroll along the illuminated streets. You also take in all the magic from your car as well. The Christmas lights shine every evening this year from November 21, 2022, through January 15, 2023.

If you haven't experienced either of these Michigan winter gems, be sure to check them out this year. You can view the full list of the "40 of the Prettiest American Towns to Visit During the Winter" here.
